Background of the project

Modern society is in the era of big data, and the data center is the foundation of informatization. In order to ensure the storage and calculation of data, the data center has extremely high requirements on the reliability of electricity. In order to ensure the normal operation of the data center, a large number of UPSs, switching power supplies and inverter computer room air conditioners are usually configured. Among them, due to the existence of UPS, switching power supply and inverter air conditioner equipment, a large number of 5th, 7th, and 11th harmonics are injected into the power grid. If harmonic control is not carried out, the harmonics will cause serious pollution to the power grid. The data communication system also produces a lot of interference, which leads to communication data errors, or even paralysis and interruption, which reduces the safety and reliability of the power distribution system.

The Yangtze River Delta Digital Financial Data Center data center uses a large number of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), central inverter air conditioners, switching power supplies, computers, and electronic energy-saving lamps.

Enjoypowers’ Solution

The harmonics of the data center are mainly generated by UPS and some nonlinear DC power supplies. The power supply system consists of two 1000kVA transformers and one 800kW generator. The centralized management scheme is adopted. The capacity of each transformer is 400A. The source power filter is realized by four 100A parallel machines, the model is SinE-APF-100A, to automatically track and compensate the harmonic current generated by the load to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the entire system.

It can be seen from the figure that before the AHF is put into use, the content of the 3rd, 5th, 7th and other harmonic frequencies is relatively large; after using the active harmonic filter, the harmonic current of each order is effectively suppressed, which improves the power supply system. Stability, eliminates the harm of harmonics on the communication system, and has received good operating results. To meet the requirements of computer center and monitoring center and other automation equipment for power quality, it can effectively solve the problem of harmonic interference and false tripping.
