What is Active harmonic filter AHF?

Active harmonic filter(AHF), also known as Active Power Filter(APF), is the latest solution to solve the power quality problems caused by harmonics. It is suitable for various industries and market segments with nonlinear loads.

Active harmonic filter(AHF) is a high-performance, compact, flexible, modular and cost-effective power electronic equipment, which can provide immediate and effective response to power quality problems in low-voltage power system.

Working principle of active harmonic filter

The active harmonic filter of enjoypowers is connected in parallel with the nonlinear load, and a set of current transformers (CT) are used to detect the load current. It calculates each order harmonic current through FFT algorithm in DSP chip, and then DSP sends instructions to IGBT control unit to generate compensation current with the same amplitude but opposite phase angle as the detected harmonic current to offset the original load harmonic.

In addition to eliminating harmonic current, active harmonic filter can also provide capacitive and inductive reactive power to improve power factor and solve the problem of three-phase imbalance.
